Several arrest warrants have been issued against more than 200 Libyan and foreign traffickers involved in a vast network of illegal immigration to European shores, the Libyan prosecutor's office said.

"We have 205 arrest warrants against people involved in organizing immigration operations, trafficking in human beings, (cases of) torture, murder and rape," said Al-Seddik al-Sour, head of the investigation office at the Attorney General's office.

Members of the security services, migrant detention camps' supervisors as well as embassy officials from African countries in Libya are involved in the smuggling of illegal immigrants, he added.
